Vehicle Boot Payment & Redemption

⚠️ IMPORTANT WARNING: This vehicle has been immobilized under NYC Traffic Rules & Regulations § 4-08. DO NOT MOVE YOUR VEHICLE. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE BOOT. Any attempt to move, damage, or remove the BOOT may result in arrest and/or criminal prosecution.

Fees & Requirements

Standard Fees

Boot Fee: $185.00 (Heavy Duty Tow Fee: $370.00) plus any summonses in judgment. ?

Fees must be paid within 2 hours of the time listed on your boot notice to avoid towing. If not paid within 2 hours, your vehicle will be towed to the nearest NYPD Tow Pound and an additional $185.00 tow fee will be charged.

Required Documents

Must be presented upon request for boot removal:

  • Current valid driver’s license
  • Current valid registration certificate or rental agreement
  • Current valid insurance card
If you are not the registered owner and do not possess the registration or insurance card, you must present a notarized letter of authorization from the vehicle owner.

After Payment

Once your payment is successful, your receipt will be electronically sent to your email address.

Stay with your vehicle until the boot is removed. NYPD personnel will respond to the booted vehicle's location. You must have all necessary documents available to be verified by the responding personnel.

After verification the boot will be removed from the vehicle. Do not attempt to drive the vehicle until the boot is removed.
